Preoperative Instructions

1) Schedule or confirm your surgery date and time by calling our office at (408-559-4343).

2) On the day of your surgery, please report to your assigned facility (check with Dr. Jeter's office). Your surgery will be conducted at one of the following surgery centers:

3) You MUST have a friend or relative drive you home following your surgery and stay with you for the first 24 hours following your surgery. If you are taking a cab, a friend or relative must ride home with you in the cab.

4)  Do not eat or drink anything, including water, after midnight the night before your surgery. Unless otherwise instructed, do not take any medication containing aspirin for approximately one week before surgery (aspirin thins the blood and may cause an increase in bleeding tendencies). If you take one aspirin per day for heart protection, please continue to take this. Do not take ibuprofen for two days prior to your surgery.

5) If you are having knee or ankle surgery, do not shave your leg 48 hours prior to the surgery.

6) If you develop any change in the appearance of your operative side (cut, rash, pimple, etc.), or if you develop a cold/flu within a few days of your surgery, please notify our office immediately at (408) 559-4343.

7) Schedule or confirm with our office for your follow-up appointment for a post-operative examination for the exact day and time by calling our office at (408) 559-4343.

Surgery requires 90 days of follow up care. X-rays and supplies are not included.
